Meet Rabbi Yaakov Alcabes
A YTCTE alumnus with a creative and innovative approach, our KES Boys Assistant Principal, Rabbi Alcabes has the ability to make everyone feel like they’re his favorite. And they are! His Sephardic upbringing, coupled with his semicha from Rabbi Moshe Heinemann, makes him an expert in both Ashkenaz and Sephardic customs. Bringing his many years of successful teaching experience to the position, Rabbi Alcabes is able to seamlessly fuse the ability to educate children in Torah with ensuring that each child feels distinctly cared for and valued.
What I Do
As the KES Boys Assistant Principal for Grades 1-5, I work alongside the Rebbeim and teachers to make sure every student is able to successfully navigate their school years and realize their potential. Incorporating innovation and creativity, I work hard to create an environment that is engaging and real for the students.
How I Make a Difference at YTCTE
Every child is a whole world and needs to be cared for in such a way. My goal is to connect with the students on their level and help them overcome challenges.
My Favorite Part about What I Do
The best thing is to watch students learn and apply new skills and take on challenges to grow and better themselves. It’s very rewarding to be a part of the journey and see our students enter school as young boys and leave as young men, ready to take on middle school with confidence.
I strive to instill a love for learning into each talmid. I am looking to make a difference in our students’ lives and help them to grow into their best selves.
