Meet Rabbi Yaakov Alcabes
A YTCTE alumnus, Rabbi Alcabes has the ability to make each one of his students feel that they’re his favorite. And they are! He cares deeply for the children in his classes, and is always coming up with creative ways to help them learn the skills they need to grow in Torah and mussar. Being sephardic, Rabbi Alcabes is also able to help sephardic students navigate the differences in sephardic and ashkenazic mesorah.
What I do
I help my fourth grade boys develop the skills they need to thrive in Mishnah, Chumash and Yedios Hatorah.
How I make a difference at YTCTE
Many of the concepts we cover are difficult for young students to understand. I break them down into lessons that resonate on a fourth grade level. And I tailor my instruction to each student based on what they need most.
My favorite part about what I do
It’s the best to see my students grow and apply the skills they’ve learned, all on their own.
Parting Words
I want to instill a love for learning into each Talmud. As fourth graders, my students are just beginning to learn Mishnayos, which is the foundation to learning Gemarah. It’s a pivotal time and I want them to see it as positive and exciting adventure.
