Meet Rabbi Yaacov Laredo
Rabbi Laredo is passionate and enthusiastic about everything he does. His persistence and drive to transmit the rich Sephardic mesorah to the next generation made him the ideal Rabbi to coordinate our Sephardic Initiative and spurred him to establish the Hollywood Torah Center which offers services on Shabbat and Chagim and runs weekday programs and learning activities for children, teenagers, singles and couples.
What I do
I run and supervise the Sephardic Minyanim throughout the Yeshiva. I personally pray with the High School Sephardic Minyan which is followed by some daily halachot and then interact with the boys. Additionally, I teach a high school Halacha class.
How I make a difference at YTCTE
I am providing the Sephardic families and students of our Yeshiva the opportunity to pray according to their family traditions, allowing them to feel connected during their prayers.
My favorite part about what I do
I love being able to connect with the students, inspire them to grow and B”H continue to develop into true Bnei Torah who are proud of their heritage and the role they play in continuing the chain.
Parting Words
I was immediately drawn to the organization and warmth of the Rabbeim, teachers and administration, the passion of the hanhala at YTCTE and the opportunity of a lifetime to make a difference in the next generation.
