Rabbi Chaim Mandel

Meet Rabbi Chaim Mandel

An upbeat, enthusiastic and energetic go-getter, Rabbi Mandel brings out the best in everyone and everything he encounters! He’s known for his ability to infuse davening with excitement and he has a knack for making Holocaust curriculum relevant to today’s students. He also started Pirchei of South Florida for his children, so they could continue growing in Torah and Mussar. Even though his children are grown now, he continues to help direct it today, along with Rabbi Kaganoff.

What I do

I help middle school boys connect to Hashem through tefillah and Jewish History. I try to convey lessons of pride in who we are and where we came from. Through the Holocaust curriculum I demonstrate Hashgacha Protis, the fantastic rebirth of Torah, and the miracle of the rebirth of our country Eretz Yisroel.

How I make a difference at YTCTE

I want the boys to know I’m here for them beyond their time at RMS. Once I connect with a talmid, I strive to maintain that connection. I’m in touch with many of my former students. I even give a vaad once a month to former talmidim who are now married and live in the neighborhood.

My favorite part about what I do

Watching the transformation of the boys during their three years with us. When they prepare to graduate Grade 8, it’s so rewarding to see how proud they are of what they accomplished.

Parting Words

I’ve been at YTCTE from its infancy. I’ve seen firsthand the Syata Dishmaya that went into growing it from a small collection of classrooms to a thriving, successful Yeshiva with five divisions. I’m so proud that my family and I had a part in building and nurturing this great Makom Torah.
