Meet Mrs. Miriam Cohen
Mrs. Cohen instills a love of learning and Yiddishkeit in everyone she interacts with. Whether she’s singing her way through Chumash lessons or delving into kriyah skills, her students have so much fun that they don’t realize how much they learned that day.
What I do
I help my girls begin their elementary school experience in the most positive way possible. From basic Chumash skills and script writing, to reading skills, the foundation for their future learning is built in my classroom.
How I make a difference at YTCTE
I bring my own unique energy and joy to the school. From singing at the Erev Shabbos assemblies to dancing on Rosh Chodesh and being the teacher who’s willing to be goofy, I take pride in making learning fun, no matter where it’s happening.
My favorite part about what I do
It’s so rewarding when I see the pride on my students’ faces as they master new material. I also love watching my students grow from year to year, even after they’ve left my classroom. And of course, I love seeing my students’ smiles as they enter my room each day. It makes me happy.
Parting Words
I always wanted to be a teacher. I love to learn, and I love finding new and creative ways to instill a love of learning in my students. It’s so fun! As a former student of YTCTE, it was natural for me to join the staff.
