How to Bypass the Video Processing Issue in the Distance Learning Shared Google Drive

YTCTE Suggestions

A number of parents and staff are having issues with Google Drive stuck in processing. This only affects the web browser version of Google Drive and does not affect the native Google Drive files on chromebooks nor does it affect Google Drive File Stream (for Windows and Mac)

If you have a Chromebook: Open Google Drive from the “Files” app on the chromebook. Navigate to Google Drive –> Shared Drives –> Long Distance Learning. All files will play natively on the computer without needing to download. Please see the video above for a walk through. You can pin your child’s teacher’s folders for quick access.

If you have a Windows Computer: Please download Google Drive File Stream here. (Google File Stream allows you to access My Drive and shared drive files on your computer without using a browser.) Install the program and login with your child’s student account. Once the install and setup is complete, open your computer files, navigate to Google Stream -Shared Drive, and find the file you need to see. Videos seem to be working with this method. If you need your child’s account login, please email [email protected]. Please see the video above for a walk through.

If you have a Mac: Please download Google Drive File Stream here. (Google File Stream allows you to access My Drive and shared drive files on your computer without using a browser.)
