Remedial

Providing students with the support they need to succeed

Our goal is for every student to meet or exceed grade level expectations. We recognize that some students require extra attention and assistance to master the skills and content covered in our Limudei Kodesh and Secular Studies curriculum. That’s why we offer a variety of Remedial and Basic Level classes, tutors and other support services, in addition to the personalized academic support our rebbeim, moros and teachers provide during the regular school day.

Early intervention is the key to your child’s future success. The earlier their need for extra support is addressed, the faster your child can gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their potential academically, emotionally and socially. We work closely with your family to develop the best learning program for your child’s unique needs.

Klurman Elementary School

Our David Ari Academic Coaching and Enrichment (ACE) Resource Room provides individualized support to students struggling to succeed in Limudei Kodesh or Secular Studies. Our outstanding team of caring, experienced special educators work with students individually and in small groups, both in the ACE room and your child’s regular classroom. Our dynamic ACE educators adjust the curriculum and their teaching strategies to each student’s unique needs. They also stay in frequent communication with you and your children’s teachers, providing clear, targeted guidance to help support your child’s success.

Rohr Middle School

We want each one of our talmidim to enjoy the beauty of learning Torah. For students who need additional support to succeed in their Limudei Kodesh classes, we offer a select number of tutoring spots. (Subject to staff availability.) If students are struggling with their Math or English, we also offer Remedial Math and English Language Arts classes, so students can master the foundational skills needed to succeed academically.

Dr. Abe Chames High School

In both Limudei Kodesh and Secular Studies, we customize each student’s daily class schedule to maximize their ability to be successful, so they feel good about themselves and their Yeshiva experience. This may include one on one instruction or a recommendation to enroll in our smaller, Basic Level classes. In Secular Studies, our Basic Level Language Arts and Math classes in grade 9 and 10 usually allow a student to progress to the regular level classes by grade 11, if not sooner.

Our Basic Level courses are available on a case by case basis in a variety of subjects. Students who successfully complete our Basic Level courses meet the graduation requirements of the Florida Department of Education and the School.
